The Easiest Way To Elevate A Simple Outfit

Feeling lazy? In a hurry? Or is summer just so hot that the mere thought of putting effort into your outfit makes you break out into a sweat? I have for you my hands-down easiest way to add an element of interest to a look with minimal effort to elevate your simple jeans and tee (or in my case today, denim shorts and shirt). Are you ready for this mind-blowing styling hack? Ok, here it is…

…a belt!

This may sound dumb or like a no-brainer, but by just adding a belt and nothing else, your outfit instantly looks more put-together. Don’t believe me? Proof below:

Before Belt

After Belt

See what I mean? Just a boring black and white outfit, but by simply adding a belt, it just looks a million times better. I like embellished ones that do all the styling work for me, and I have them in both silver tone and gold tone metals to match whatever jewelry or handbag I feel like wearing that day.

The best part, you only need to invest in one, because you can wear these suckers every day and no one will ever care. That’s what I do!

I’ve linked some of my favorite embellished belts below. And don’t forget your trusty leather punch tool can add a hole or two if you need it, or make a too big vintage find instantly wearable.

Sizing tip: I like my belts around the 1 inch width, which I feel is a nice width for my height and frame.
